Single and album updates
I just discovered that Seventeen has charted at #40 on the Australian singles charts. I didn't even know it had been released! To say this is the official site it'd be great for them to tell us details.
The album has also re-entered the "all Ozzy" album chart, re-entering at #15.
Good stuff I guess, means the album is still selling a few copies. I didn't expect the single to make any waves really.

For a bit there was some buzz on Seventeen on radio there... and is still played... and I've also heard that Shaka Rock has hit Gold in Australia!

Yep Shaka Rock has gone gold here in Australia, hopefully it'll go platinum. Seventeen is #40 on the ARIA charts, hopefully it'll do even better in the charts. Shaka Rock also re-entered the ARIA charts at forty something.

Over time it may get there. How did Shine On sell overall, does anyone know? In Australia and worldwide? Maybe worldwide I'd imagine a few hundred thousand in total?

Shine on went platinum and reached number 3 on the charts here in Australia. It was pretty successful but not as successful as Get Born which went 8x platinum in Australia. Not sure how Shine On went world wide though. -

The number I've heard tossed around is 900,000. A million, or just under has been used... so I'd say that's a fair estimation.... don't quote that number though, because I've never come across a clear, 100% accurate number.

Just checked up on the goings on of Seventeen on the Ozzy singles chart and it's actually climbed to a new peak of #38 now! Good stuff
Time to go update the Wiki page about it.

Amazingly in its 5th week on the Ozzy chart, Seventeen has climbed to a new peak of #31 up from last weeks #38! More people must be liking it. Now let's hope the album will shift some more copies :)

Wow that's great to hear! It really is a winning song. Everybody manages to like it, but it's not one of those 'everyone likes it because it's plain, basic and flat' songs. I do hope they put a few more songs like that on the next record... something tells me they will since they all reaaalllly like that song!

Amazingly Seventeen is still selling well by the looks of it in Oz, this week it is #35 on the singles chart, down one from last weeks #34, so it people are buying the single at a steady rate it seems as it has been 8 weeks now it's been in the top 40!!!
Hopefully it'll hang around a little more and go Gold like She's A Genius did! I don't know why I care so much about the chart for this song but it's great to see Jet doing relatively well

hey there John, interesting facts... i agree .. anything that promotes Jet, is right on.. seventeen is a great single and where-ever it has gone is a bonus, can hardly believe it's a year since i was waiting for Shakarock to be released... this time last year i think i'd just found out i was going to see them for the first time... july 5.. nic's 30th birthday... a night to remember.. no matter how many bands i see or have seen there is NO comparison to Jet..what's your favorite song?

Yeah it's hard to believe a year has flown since tracks from Shaka Rock were coming. Time flies!
As for my favourite Jet song....that's a tough one. Lazy Gun has always been a firm favourite ever since I first heard it and I also love Shine On and Look What You've Done to death :) -

haha yer seventeen good song ... i turned seventeen and thought it was cool cause of that but yer pretty popular here in australia ... played almost everyday no surprise here
