Next single?

Does anyone think the band will release another single from Shaka Rock?
I think Goodbye Hollywood or She Holds A Grudge would be excellent choices and both could have wonderful videos to go with them.

I think you're right, I think Goodbye Hollywood would be a good next single. It's kinda ballad-y.
But I really like K.I.A.... always thought that should've been released as a single. Also like Seventeen.
Argh, it's hard to pick hahaha!

On another slightly less important note: I hate iTunes. I really really hate iTunes. In fact, like the dog I owned when I was 10 had been inclined to do, I wish it would just go away and never come back. :)

I think you need to look at the demographic you wish to target....I'm still a Blackhearts fan. :) I also love 'Goodbye Hollyweed'...sorry. ;) And 'Seventeen' is a good song that would appeal to the teenaged fans. 'She Holds a Grudge' isn't catchy enough (sorry Cammie)...for the radio. JMPO.

I liked Let Me Out and Start the Show
17 would make a good single and Beat On Repeat is pretty catchy; that could also work

Honestly, all songs on Shaka Rock could be used as great singles, just depends what age group they're aiming at
    Shaka Rock was brilliant!

    I need more Jet!
brand new live dvd anyone? :P

Yea the lovely thing about this album is its not really a 'Jumpout Single' Album... ok maybe She's a Genius, but every other song is equally well. The real question is how will non-fanatic crazy JET fans (like ourselves) will take it. Black Hearts was a good choice, and K.I.A. has "already been a single", so I think if they went into some rock stations, Start the Show would be a cool one. One that I haven't heard mentioned that I adore is La Di Da. Not sure how radio would soak that up, but I like it!!!
(Sigh) The problems with stupid picky people who don't know what good rock sounds like... you have to try to please them too!

How has Black Hearts gone down in Australia? Over here in the UK we've not had a 2nd single release since She's A Genius, which is a shame but that went by pretty much seen by no-one, I only found out it was released on 7"vinyl by pure accident so naturally bought it when I saw it.
But yeah, Beat on Repeat would be a cool choice also, it's very funky and catchy and fun and would be perfect on the radio.

I think that Beat On Repeat, Seventeen or Start The Show would be a good choice! But, to be honest, almost all the songs could be good as the singles, so whatever the next single will be, it'll be great :)

To be honest, Jet just doesn't get the attention they deserve anymore (even in Aus), the hype died pretty quick - and most people have only heard She's a Genius and a select few have heard the KIA music video...

Shaka Rock is such a fun album that I think most people can get into, it gets better with each listen - unfortunately Wolfmother's new album has overshadowed Shaka Rock, as has Powderfinger's Golden Rule (both have much more promotion)

another problem is Jet's albums have a long release gap between them (not that its their fault)
however the quality of each one makes up for that (as they're all awesome)

If Jet had the same amount of promotion as Wolfmother, they'd without a doubt be more popular - we need massive billboards with the Shaka Rock cover damnit! :)

Great reply, thanks for that. I have to say, when I was backpacking in Oz last year for 6 months I think I heard Jet once on a radio station. I managed to get two lads to like them a bit by playing them a few tracks on my Ipod though :)

It's a shame the band doesn't get media exposure like they did in say, 2004. It annoys me when music magazines and channels don't give bands a look at all anymore because all they care about are the new hip thing for that moment in time.

Despite not listening to radio stations here at all, I believe La Di Da would be a good choice for the next single.

In Poland almost no one has heard about JET. There are many national radio stations but only in one station I can hear "She's a Genius" which is played every two hours. Rock is still overshadowed by pop, dance and techno in Poland, which is a shame. I do my best in order to spread a word about JET but one person cannot win with almost 40 million people... I have some friends who are rock freaks and they're getting more and more interested with JET thanks to me. But it's still too few people.

i'd like more people know about JET, and "Shaka rock" of course, because if i tell someone about "JET", everyone just knows or remembers "are you gonna be my girl?" or "She's a genius" from the last album, and no more... in the radio is the same, the last time i heard "KIA", but every song on Shaka rock is great!

Anyone heard any rumours or have any inside gossip about what the next single will be? I'm starting to think we won't get one now.
If not, hopefully get guys will get back to working on their next album soon, I can't wait another 3 years for one!

Sometimes it's better to wait for a long time and then hear an excellent album than to wait for a short time and then hear the bad one...

Beat on Repeat is such a fun song and the solo gives it that grungy kick. IT NEEDS TO BE RELEASED ON CD FORMAT. Does anyone know where I can get the She's A Genius single/Ep on CD?
