Introducing...
Yourself! I'm new to these forums, and I noticed that there are no welcoming threads. (Maybe there are? Direct me a link plz, since I fail at the search bar) So introduce yourself! Like what's your name? How'd you come across Jet? What are some of your favorite bands? Whare are you from? Hobbies? etc.
I'll start!
Hiya! I'm Josie, and I stumbled across this band a few years ago with 'Are You Going to Be My Girl?' and didn't really get that much into them even though I loved the song. Then, I saw that Nic played with Muse on 'Back in Black' (I'm a HUGE Muse fan) and totally fell in love with this dude's voice. On my Pandora, they started playing a bunch of Jet tracks so my obsession grew, and here I am! My fave bands include Muse, Kasabian, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Queen and I have a bunch more, but I won't bore you. That and I'm too lazy to type them all out! Hahahaha. I'm a musician, I sing, play guitar, play piano, play french horn, play trombone, percussion, etc. Again a long list that I'm too lazy to type and/or I won't bore you.
So...how are you?

Hey I'm Alex, and I am a recent fan. Well, in terms of years, because some of you here have been from the very beginning, yea... I didn't have the same access or 'interests' (believe it or not) back in the Get Born days. I have now settled on Rock n Roll as my music choice, and that ain't eva gonna change!
Nice to see we have some bands in common. I've yet to get more albums from Muse (their best one in your opinion?) and LOVE alongside with JET, Kasabian and The Hives. My top three.
Other bands I've come to like (a bit of an odd list some may say)
White Stripes
The Strokes
Foo Fighters
Nirvana
Them Crooked Vultures
Ok Go
The New Cities (Check em out. If you don't mind some electronic rock pop, these Quebecers have got something)
The Midway State (Another Canadian band, more ballads. But you'll LOVE Never Again if you like a deep, meaningful ballad)
The Temper Trap
Silversun Pickups
Oasis
and probably a lot more...:)
And OH MY GAWSH, Nic did an excellent cover with Muse on that! The combination was just brilliant! Muse really got my attention after that one!
Hobbies include always looking up new music (Calling All Cars I'm really getting into right now) and trying my hand at drumming.

You sound really similar to me!! Hahahaha and I shall check those bands out soon! They sound really cool, especially because we have such similar tastes.
Yayys!! Muse are freaking beast. You should look up the song 'New Born'. It's pure genius, but I warn you...you may get an eargasm. and as far as best album, they're all so different. Tell me if you like New Born and if you prefer a darker tone or a lighter poppier tone, or in the middle. You should go to their website (http://www.muse.mu) and listen to the songs they have on there. I really think you'd enjoy them! :D

My name is Matt and I first got into Jet when I heard AYGBMG way back in 2003. My favourite bands at the moment are Jet, Kasabian, Deep Purple, CCR (John Fogerty) and The Redwalls. And I'm from England. :D

Hey Josi, thanks for the.... would you call it 'advise'? on Muse. You've motivated me to listen to more of their stuff, and I never really doubted it, but I'm impressed.
New Born: Beautiful and heavy... I didn't see that coming really... I love it! Sooo easily now do I see their popularity. The people got it right.
Thanks for starting me off with that song, because I sort of lean more toward darker music, but I really am open to all sorts of sounds. If I was all and only into really dark music, I don't think I'd like JET so much! The song I absolutely love from The Resistance is Undisclosed Desires, and now I want to know which album New Born is from.
As well, I was sort of thinking, if you like the more symphonic Muse, I think you'll love Arcade Fire. They have as many as 10 on stage, with such a range of instruments, and the sound is incredibility huge, and mesmerizing; the lure is so hidden, you almost don't even know you've fallen in love with it! They did a YouTube show from Madison Square Garden, and any clip from that is fantastic. My favourites that I think you'll like too are Ready to Start and Month of May. For something soaring that'll stay in your head, Rebellion (Lies) is amazing. It just kept replaying in my head for days after hearing it-"Every time you close your eyes".
Sorry to be a bit overwhelming here, but we both seem to have a passion, and I love this 'exchange of music' going on! If you get the chance to check them out, let me know what you think as well.
