Live in London gig

Thu, Jul 22, 2010 at 11:31 AM

Jet just recently played a one off gig in London. I didn't go as I live nowhere near London, but I find it very odd that they came to the UK to play one single gig. I wonder if perhaps it was being filmed for a live DVD or something? I hope so!!!
I found this gig review and also at the end is little poor interview with Cam, enjoy:

If only John. From your fingers to Gods to do list he he he! It always sounds funnier in my head. I can't wait for them to start their tour with Powderfinger, I will be there again and again and a couple more agains. That's my budget blown for the year, but it's so worth it. I hope that you are right about the dvd. I would love one with all the recent stuff on it as well as their older songs. Hope all is well with you, By 4 now fee.

I'm OK thanks Fee, and yourself? :) Spending all your money on gigs? :) I'm planning on perhaps back packing around New Zealand next year, still thinking about it every day.
There is still a market for a live DVD so it's not like it wouldn't sell. I watched my live Jet Family Style DVD last week and although it's good it was filmed in something like November 2003 I believe. I guess I'll just keep on dreaming away.

It was a fantastic night. You think the guy could have taken some better photos for that review! :p Really, really want them to come back and do a tour of the UK. Haven't seen them nearly enough and only just managed to learn their back catalogue after Portugal. I don't think the Shepherd's Bush gig was filmed, you would have noticed the cameras and they would have panned across the front for crowd shots/had cameramen onstage etc.

Actually I am almost ready to trade in my head for a new one , actually why not trade the whole thing, wouldn't that be nice. I could do a pimp my ride kind of thing (tv show if you don't know it, not that I watch it or have ever seen it). Anyway back on topic, I am fine. Yeah am still spending my money on going to shows, but had to cut back for a while though. But I just did my tax and found out I was paying the highest tax that anyone pays, so got a nice little refund. Its kind of funny I was dreading doing my tax as I thought I would hardly get anything due to having to pay my uni studies back , but not so. So looks like a holiday and maybe a couple more gigs if I can find some good bands. Hoping to go to muse if i can swing it in December and than maybe a holiday in Feburary. I hear NewZealand is just amazing and the sceanery over there is just increadible. You will have a great time. So many things to do. There country side is so diverse. From cities to mountain peaks covered in snow and glaciers. I have never been but my brother loved it, he would actually like to have a holiday house there, so that for him is really high praise, not that he could afford it, hey we can all dream. So keep dreaming, thats how amazing things happen. Gosh I sound like some guru or something blah! I know what you mean about there family DVD, I am still addicted to watching the show they did at the metro in sydney, but it eats up all my gigabites and then I can't watch it for another 3 weeks, my internet package really sucks. Thats ok only another 23 months of it to go. Always look on the bright side . Damn it I have filled up like an A4 sized page sorry for rambling on, i do that every now and then. I wont be offended if you don't bother reading it. fee

Ha, I read that last week funnily enough, I clicked on your Jet banner on the Manic Street Preachers forum :)

Yeah Fee, I read all of your post :) I have more spare time on my hands than I'd like so it wasn't exactly hard work for me . Tax returns, eh. Sounds like a fun packed time you had with it! The tax is Australia is really high...well, it is for packbackers if you're working, I was too lazy to work and lived off my savings . Never been a fan of Muse since they started up, although one of their last songs was good....resistence? I can't remember now. Aye, New Zealand looks stunning. Someone told it's like Britain a little bit. Hmmm. I'd live in Australia given the chance, best place on earth! . I might go check out some of that Jet show you mentioned, I'm pretty sure I'll have seen some of it but I just want to watch some again, although I won't be eating up my internet with it. Hopefully!

Heh, small world eh. Yeah, Jet are my current signature. Do you have a username on FD that I would recognise? Also, quality taste if you're a Manics fan. Easily my favourite band, seen them live almost too many times to recall.

I go by the name of Everlasting on FD, have done for about 5 years, I go on pretty much every day but only post on Manics related stuff. They're also my favourite band

Amazing! Assume you're seeing them this tour then? I'm seeing them 10 times, plus the launch party next week. How do you like the new single? Maybe it's just as well Jet are in Australia now... I clearly have problems with doing things in moderation! :p Jees, I recognise your username, how funny!
