Chic Rock Bands
Does anyone know of any good Chic rock bands, I know heaps of guy rock bands but would love to find a good chic one. Its like my cd collection is discriminating against women rock bands. I just haven’t found any great ones. I love to belt out a rock song so it would be great to have a chic band that lives upto the title Rock Band. Fee

I know what you mean Livvy, a lot of chic bands tend to be lacking in the rock quota and seem to try to hard sometimes to be what they think a rock band should be. Never forget its all about the music. Thanks for the suggestions I will look into them. fee

I totally understand you! I always found many female bands annoying... one band I really love is Silversun Pickups, which has a female bassist.... but if your looking for a female singer.... hmmmmm.... Arcade Fire has an occasional female voice.... this is really tough.... I'll just look into the other ones first maybe haha!

Doll & The Kicks are worth checking out. The lead singer is sassy and I usually find most women singer annoying...I saw them supporting Morrissey twice an they were great both times, very trashy indie rock.
Florence & The Machine is amazing, enough said.
Actually, for one of the best alternative rock albums ever I would buy The Cardigans' Super Extra Gravity. Everyone remembers them for their poppy stuff but their rock sound was amazing. Super Extra Gravity is flawless, listen to "I Need Some Fine Wine And You, You nNeed To Be Nicer". That and their Gran Turismo album. Gran Turismo has less quiet moments and is more metallic, listen to "Hanging Around" and "Paralysed". Nina Persson is one of the most underrated fron people of all time imo. x

Hi Fiona, in answer to your question, i don't really know any good all- female rock bands, as they tend to irritate me LOL not sure why! :) On the other hand, I'm really into Sonic Youth. There's a female in that band- Kim Gordon- who plays bass and sometimes sing. She's really good and has a unique sort of voice. Maybe you should check out some SY, their stuff is so amazing! Liv xx
