Les Paul Makeover
I'm taking Betty to Ownsby's to get her tweaked a little. Putting in the Gibson Dirty Fingers brigde pickup, I've decided to take off the gold cover on the 490R to get the tones of the two pickups equal. But now I have to take off the pickguard to give it that nice "vintage" look. Unfortunatley, Ownsby's couldn't take off the cover of the 490R. So I'm going to take it to Guitar Center or just invest in a whole new neck pickup. But so far, I am COMPLETELY satisfied with the Dirty Fingers and the guitar as a whole.
3/10/10:
It's been a while since I've updated. But I'm proud to say that the Les is just a flat-lined-amazing instrument now. With the Gibson Dirty Fingers pickup, I've given this guitar a whole new level.
Here's something new, however. While on the market for the Dirty Fingers, I came across the Epiphone P93 Riviera guitar. It was immediately a MUST-HAVE. With clean channel set on my Marshall, I can get a nice, rich B.B. King melody making machine. On the other hand, I can switch over to the overdrive where I find myself in a paradise of a concoction of Malcom Young's driving riffs and Nic Cester's ripping melodies. Two thumbs up to Epiphone for this amazing instrument!
